Tank by Erin Bevan

https://amzn.to/2L9QBCI
Tyler Wilde moves to Black Widow, Texas, to join the Blue Guardians, a local biker club that helps abused women and children. He's intent on starting his life over, but a small piece of his past collides with his present when he runs into the local waitress, Annie Carter.

Annie’s the girl of his boyhood dreams, and Tyler can’t wait to get reacquainted with her. Only problem is, Annie’s engaged. But what has Tyler more troubled than the diamond on her finger is the bruise that graces her arm. To make matters worse, Annie’s abuser and intended husband is also the town’s Chief of Police.

Tyler is determined to offer Annie a safe haven, but she refuses his help until her life is hanging by a thread.

Review:
What a fun story :)

While I love reading about Bikers, it was a nice change of pace to not read about a 1%-er club!  These bikers are still broody and alpha-male(ish) but they are out to change the lives of abuse victims and it's great.

The characters are interesting and compelling as is the story. I look forward to more books in this series.

Rosecliff Manor Haunting by Cheryl Bradshaw

https://amzn.to/2IqyBGI
Psychic medium Addison Lockhart jolts awake, her brow sweaty, head throbbing. The dream had seemed so real.

The twins, eleven-year-old Vivian and Grace, were so full of life she wanted to reach out, touch them. But she couldn't. The girls had been dead for forty years. Why then had they appeared to her, summoning her help? Were their untimely deaths really an accident, or was something far more sinister to blame?

If you enjoy a mystery with a supernatural twist, you'll enjoy this fast-paced, bestselling series.

Review:
I honestly, can't remember if I read the first book in this series, but it's safe to say you can jump into book 2 with no problem :)

It's kind of a cozy mystery with some paranormal mixed in.  I like the characters and the storyline as Addison tries to figure out what was going on .  It's a sweet novella that while not an edge of my seat page turner, present a good, solid story that is an enjoyable read.

Review:
I really enjoyed the ex-con storyline in this one. It's not your typical story and while some parts feel a little drawn out or overdone, it's a fast paced read that is sweet, sexy, and enjoyable.

This was my first book from Amber Daulton and I"ll be looking for more.

Men Under Fire by Jacki Delecki

Hollie Thomas, the feisty, tattooed office assistant to Grayce Walters, has come a long way from living on the streets. Along with finding a job she loves, she’s found friends and safety. When her new life unravels, she faces dangers that dwarf her troubled past. Fighting to survive, she discovers that sometimes what you need the most might be found in the one person you failed to see coming.

Returning home from the war and struggling to find his way, Sergeant Nick Welby, and his bomb-sniffing golden lab, use their skill set in the last place he’d ever imagined—Seattle’s Waterfront. To protect the one woman who matters, Nick and his trusty canine partner will risk everything to rescue her and Seattle from disaster.

Embroiled in Grayce Walters’ most perilous case—a terrorist plot with the threat of deadly explosives—can Nick and Hollie work together to save themselves and each other before it’s too late?

Review:

While I've enjoyed this series, this book was a bit of a let down. basically this is book 2, from Hollie's point of view.  While I like Hollie and glad she met someone, the whole suspense bit is lost if you've read book two because it is the exact same story. If you haven't read Women Under Fire (book 2), then this is a good story.

Detroit rules by Linda Style

STREET LAW: Whatever it takes…
Disillusioned attorney turned private investigator Charlie Street’s life shattered when her father was convicted of murder and killed in prison. Convinced he was framed, she vowed to find who was responsible and see them pay.

Detective Remington Malone’s best friend has disappeared…the case has gone cold, but nothing, not even the threat of losing his job, can keep Remy from investigating. And as the bodies of his snitches start piling up, it’s clear someone besides the chief of police wants to stop him.

Remy needs the best PI in town, and that’s Charlie Street. Except there’s bad blood between the investigator and Detroit’s finest. The last thing Charlie wants is to work with a cop. But when she sees a link between Remy’s case and her father’s…it’s a job she can’t refuse. Soon, Charlie and Remy are mired in the dark world of human trafficking, running from the mob―and fixed in the crosshairs of a killer.

DETROIT RULES is the first book in Linda Style’s explosive new STREET LAW series. A ticked-off mob boss, cops on the take, seduction, betrayal, and murder—it will take a lot more than money to fix this Motor City problem.

Review:
While it's been a few years since this came out, I just recently got my hands on it...how could a native Detroit pass up a local novel ;)  I do hope the fact that it is having recent promotion means there will be more books in the series.

I was disappointed with a few things throughout the book, mostly the misreferences to how a Detroit would speak certain things.  Overall though it was a well written story with a few surprises and twists that made it very enjoyable to read.  I hope to see more of Charlie as a kick-butt female lead in the future.
