Gust Post from Susan Hayes
When the five of us decided to embark on this crazy scheme to write five interwoven stories and set them all on a tropical island, I knew I had an advantage over my Siren Sisters. Why? I actually live on an island, so I know what it’s like to live cut off from the rest of the world by a large body of water.
There’s something unique about the island lifestyle. Time moves a little slower, the people are more laid back, and no matter where you go, there’s a goodly chance you’re going to find someone you have friends in common with long before you reach six degrees of separation. I wanted to make sure some of those unique island elements were present in Breaking Point.
Lexa has spent most of her life being told that the island is a place of sin and a playground for the rich and depraved. For her, Sunset Point is a lost piece of her life she doesn’t want to recover, and the ocean that surrounds it might as well be marked with warning signs that say “Here there be dragons, beware.”
Beau and Diego love their island home and have dedicated their lives to protecting its citizens. The only thing they haven’t been able to find in paradise is a woman they can share it with. Finding the right person can be hard to do in a smaller community, but these small town detectives have faith that fate will bring them the woman they’ve been waiting for.
The character of Gladys Humphries represents that “small town” feel, island towns usually have. She’s the unofficial matriarch, the town gossip, and a force of nature. I loved creating her, and it seemed only fitting that she be the one to finally bring Lexa, Beau and Diego together.
I hope that when you’re reading Breaking Point you get a little glimpse into island living, and then swept up in the story of these three lovers looking for their own little bit of paradise.
SUNSET POINT series
Five flirty authors sharing one ménage island…spice it up
with the Sunset Point Series!
The Sunset Point Series consists of five books in one
series, each written by a different author!
Detectives Beau Rivers and Diego Mendez grew up in ménage families and always knew they’d be a trio if they could find the right woman. They’d found her once, but fate took her out of their lives long before they were old enough to stake their claim. No woman since has ever managed to live up to their memories of Lexa, so when fate brings their childhood sweetheart back into their lives, they do everything they can to convince their gray-eyed, world-weary beauty to stay.
There are dangers to be faced and enemies to overcome, but in the end it’s up to her men to show her that some hearts never give up hope, and some loves have no Breaking Point.
